"We picked a very busy day to need a bed in Durham as it was the university open weekend. La Spada was reasonably priced & good enough, despite quite a few adverse reviews. The hotel is not set up to take guests after 10pm, a fact not highlighted when we booked at 11.30pm & then tried to get in. Fortunately we were admitted. There was no breakfast service."
