"this is an older property but has been kept clean and well. service was excellent but their restaurant was pricey. We didn't have an impression of pushy sales people for the timeshare thing. In fact they never even bothered to ask us but noticed the first day that it was a time share. We love the cave pool and felt like we didn't have to go outside of the hotel. I was impressed the female trainer for the hawk would come out to the pool area for the families to experience! Should be called El Cid...

"A quiet oasis south of Mazatlan. No children. Because it's a golf and country club, most people are middle-aged or older, which means quiet, respectful, perfect. The food is unbelievably amazing. "I booked this property because of the ability to cook for my niece. Unfortunately, although the host was responsive and sent a technician, the electric kitchenette didn't work, I was able to cook only once! This was very frustrating and inconvenient, considering this was the main reason for this booking. "

"While at the hotel the fob programmer for the keys broke down. We were not provided a key for the room until the last 12 hours of our stay. We had the security guard open the room for us every time (he was nice). When you check in the request you wear a bracelet. There is no other reason other than access to the hotel for the bracelet. "Clean and very convenient hotel, right on the Playa Norte malecón. Wonderful, helpful staff. Note that there is a lot of traffic and banda noise; you get used to it after a few days. This is typical of Mexican holiday destinations - bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Great place, but the rooms are definitely not soundproof!"

"The hotel was very quaint, authentic Mexican decor with an artist’s twist. Very beautiful. Bed was comfortable and our room was plain but had all of the basics. Washroom was small, step in shower was great. Only one bath towel each was provided and there were no hooks to hang anything to dry. "Despite the poor reviews about communication with managers, we actually got into our place right at 3:00. It might have been a challenge if we hadn’t been right there waiting. It was a quaint and comfortable place, that seemed to have an interesting history. Very close to main plaza. Kitchen had the basics. It would have been nice to have 5 gallons of filtered water available and at least one kitchen towel. Overall a comfortable stay."

"We enjoyed the location, views, and staff. There were 2 pool areas and 3 spots to eat. There was beach service for drinks and food, LOVELY! (!Gracias RAMON!) They have daily poker games, Bingo, and most days- water aerobics and beach volleyball. The beach bar was open until 1030pm, and rarely was busy that late. We were there during an unexpectedly cold snap, and never used the AC. Many travelers invested in new Mazatlan hoodies from the beach vendors. Transportation was easy. We used open air taxis and Uber to get around easily. Pueblo Bonito is on a nice strip of restaurants and shops if you leave the hotel by foot. Oddly, they do not have a minibar or even a FRIDGE in the rooms, which was a disappointment for an All-inclusive. They also give you a coffee maker in the room with NO coffee making products. ??? Different levels of service are identified by different color wrisbands- blue, orange, brown, and gold. We took advantage of a pool day at the sister property, Emerald Bay. We also went there 1 evening for dinner and drinks at Kelly's. THE STAFF AND SERVERS ARE AMAZING! GRACIAS!! We do recommend bringing a good supply of small bills for tipping, $1s and $5s. Prices on the beach: 12 oysters-150 pesos 15 shrimp- 150 pesos A sarong without sparkles- 180 pesos or 280 pesos with sparkles Mazatlan NFL embroidered cap 250 pesos Massage 30 minutes- 300 pesos Massage 60 minutes - 500 pesos We didn't buy any jewelry or clothing.
