Historic hotels give guests the opportunity to stay in a place that’s been officially recognised with a national historic designation. These types of hotels in Ottawa often preserve original elements like traditional architecture and period features in their communal spaces or guestrooms.

The two are similar. The term “historic hotel” is more common in the U.S., while “heritage hotel” is often used in Asia and Europe. Yes. Every effort is made to preserve treasured traditions and historic facades, but hotel interiors are fitted with modern conveniences and safety features. In Ottawa, booking a historic hotel doesn’t mean you will stay in a place that’s rundown or uncomfortable for guests.
