"We stayed at Melia Puerto Vallarta for a week with our three children and had an amazing experience. Overall, we found the resort to be clean and well maintained, and we were surrounded by and friendly and professional staff. The pool was fantastic, and we were able to find shaded seating most days. There were always poolside activities going on and having pool toys available was a bonus. If you are there for more than a day, you may see a couple of iguanas poolside! The beach just off the resort was well maintained and allowed us to build sandcastles, boogieboard, kayak and ride the waves. The location was also great for shell hunting and even a bit of whale watching if you are lucky. Activities around the resort were also plentiful and included minigolf, a batting cage, dance lessons, a great kids club, billiards, ping pong, foosball, and archery (shoutout to Leo Leon for running this). There were also nightly shows with mariachis, magicians and pirates that kept us entertained. The main highlight of the resort was the food. The main buffet was on a rotating schedule that offered a variety of delicious meals to choose from, so we never got bored. We were able to go to both the al a carte restaurants and they were a nice change in menu and atmosphere. There was one small water issue within our room that led to us moving down the hall to another room, but the staff dealt with it quickly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would happily visit again. "

"We enjoyed our stay at Crown Paradise Golden and thought the resort was more than adequate and the food was delicious. The buffet was always tasty and fresh. It is harder to get into the a la carte restaurants as you have to go online and book at 9 AM every morning. We had better success with the paradise and the Los Gallos. We managed to get into Salvador’s once and we walked into the Italian restaurant without a reservation and managed to get in there once. Our favourite was the Mexican Los Gallos but all of them were delicious. You need to have 1 1/2-2 hours for the a la cartes and you leave full. We primarily use the rooftop pool in building three as it was less of a party zone than the main pool. Both pools have a “walk up on the pool” bar. The drinks were yummy and you felt like you had a few drinks after having a free drinks. Not watered down or chinsy on the drinks. Their selection of beverages is excellent. We reserved a partial ocean view room and got a ginormous king deluxe ocean view room. Wow. What a view. Is the place in need of a facelift and some repairs bit it’s still a nice resort if you’re not an uppity traveller that needs 5*. It’s a solid 4*. Oh….and the beach bars had good music playing and excellent service. We would definitely stay here again. "
