All inclusive property with entertainment all throughout the day. The food at the restaurants were top notch, so much so that I didn’t feel a need to visit the restaurants with an up charge. The spa was professional, not as warm and cozy as I’m used to, but everyone was professional. The beach is very short, there is a row of cabanas and two rows of chairs and thats it. If you’re looking for a nice time in the sun, it’s worth it!

We have stayed here many times; since it was known as The Royal. The staff and the location are beyond compare. The property is always clean and the food is better than most all-inclusive properties. However, they have now blocked off the front entrance to any and all pedestrians. With Fifth Avenue only a 5 minute walk away, this forces all guests to navigate the steep driveway, or the broken sidewalk on first avenue if you want to go shopping on Fifth Avenue (which is one of the main reasons people stay here). Also, since Hilton took over, it’s easy to see that updates are few and far between. A fresh paint job in the main lobby would be a good place to start.

First time booking an all inclusive and didn’t realize so many corners would be cut on food and beverage. Most of the food was stale, and the drinks were not good unless you get bottle service; even then the mixers tasted off. We had two rooms that were nicely appointed and spacious, but at any given time one of them smelled damp or like sewage. The pool scene is spring break, lots of drink till you drop at this “destination wedding” venue. This was not a good vacation and we likely won’t be back. Have to say, all of the staff were great; friendly, kind and helpful where they could be.

I had an amazing stay at Hilton Playa del Carmen! The staff were outstanding—kind, attentive, and always ensuring I was happy. I felt incredibly secure when I forgot my wallet in the room safe, and they promptly called to let me know it was in Lost and Found. Special thanks to Priscilla for her warm welcome, and Samantha, the day manager, for going above and beyond to make my stay perfect, even arranging a room change to enhance my vacation. Also, a big shoutout to Hilda, Marisa, and Karen at Aromas Café, as well as the hardworking and kind buffet staff. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Buffet was smaller, but surprisingly really good. According to reviews, the Asian restaurant was good but the Mexican places not so good. I found the exact opposite. Don’t order the catch of the day from the sit down places! Dry dry dry! Had a very relaxing time. Recommend the pool view rooms

We had brown water coming out of our sink and everything was quite outdated and dirty. Food options were not good at all, almost everything at the buffet was cold, hard and dry. We definitely expected more out of the Hilton considering that is the hotel chain that we choose to stay at in other places as well. We found the employees here to be very tip driven. If you aren’t giving as much as others, they have an attitude with you. We had a waiter who took others before us even though we were in line first. They showed some rudeness and apathy which is horrible on their end because we did pay for our meals and we did tip, that being as much as we could. There was also some racism at play here given we were the only Indian couple at the resort so we felt extremely targeted by the employees here. Definitely will not be coming back.

Great area, great property and even better staff friendliness. I continue to go to this location because it never disappoints. Everyone is super helpful and friendly- Miguel Arcos remembered our drinks, was very helpful with activities and very knowledgeable about all the hotel activities and restaurants available at the hotel.

The resort from office treats people who book with a third party, such as Expedia, like they are an inconvenience and second rate. They give you a different colored wrist band so everyone knows you don’t get the same “perks”… service. When I arrived, I tried to arrange travel back to the airport and they told me I could not get their service I had to talk to my travel agent. I was also not able to book with the third party services for excursions on site, I had to have those who I traveled with book it. We were definitely treated differently than the other two parties with us who booked direct. Upon departure there was noone willing to assist me even though I had booked my cab. I was not allowed in the cab without a special slip but could not get decent help. Fortunately when I insisted I was getting in the cab the valet gentleman walked me in to get checked out and the guy who refused me lied and said he was assisting another guest and could help me now once the baker spoke to him in Spanish. I checked out two days early and will never go back. PS beach access is very limited. I don’t recommend anyone book with a third party stay here and also there are nicer resorts with better beach access and restaurants than this one that may be more accommodating to third parties. They also denied me Hilton honors points.

There is so much positive I want to say about our stay at the Hilton Playa del Carmen. From the moment we arrived to the moment we got in the shuttle to leave. Thank you all the hospitable staff I cannot remember the name of all: Alejandro at the pool, Ruben at Pelicanos, Yolanda and Aldo at M. Patrona. Lili and Fernando for the pictures. The lifeguard to cleaned up the scrape/cut I got on my leg when I slipped by the pool. Thank you to the whole entertainment team! Water aerobics, water spin— the FOAM party was the best!!! The gym was clean and well organized probably the best workouts I’ve gotten all year! Thank you to the caballeros at La Mejorada bar! Thank you to the senoritas at Aromas cafe- always smiling and always welcoming. Thank you to Lili for being our housekeeper when we needed a little cleaning up. Thank you to the guys at the bar at Kalamata who were always checking on our drinks by the pool. I’ve been to Playa before and stayed somewhere else. I’m in love with the city and now I’m in love with this resort. We were never ignored, always well cared for. The food was delicious!! We loved it so much we plan to return around the same time next year and hopefully extend the stay. Thank you HILTON!

My family & I stayed at the Hilton PDC for 6 nights. Perfect location to 5th Ave. Our check in was pretty smooth. Our swim up suite was clean and spacious for 3 adults. We expected 2 queen beds (on their web site) and they were full beds..disappointing. The jacuzzi tub was obnoxious and was situated awkwardly in the room. The facilities were really nice and well maintained. Options for food were limited and menus didnt change but the food was good. The staff are AMAZING! and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable! A big shout out to Roberto Tapia in the lounge area super friendly guy and works his butt off! Our breakfast at Spice Restaurant was always enjoyable with our server Miguel Arcos!! Pool area is a bit tight but the Entertainment staff are great, always smiling and super energetic. The beach was a huge let down! Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
