"Amazing property. Good free laundry and complimentary drinks in the minibar. Two things to improve: #1the room location, my room was in the first floor and barely didn’t have light #2 no daily housekeeping. The purpose of staying at a hotel is to be removed from your daily chores, that’s why you pay for a hotel instead of an apartment. There wasn’t an option for on request neither. Only housekeeping after 3 nights. I don’t want to change my sheets but I would appreciate to have my bed tidy up."

"Amazing. I will be back. Literally a 5 star experience walking distance to the most beautiful area in Kyoto. Very easy to access anything you want; food, shopping, shrines, metro and trains. The staff couldn’t be more kind always arranging taxis or giving suggestions of where to go and eat etc.. I was sad to leave this hotel. That doesn’t happen very often in traveling. I will be back here one day soon. ❤️"

"An exquisite experience in every regard - a luxurious, new boutique hotel with outstanding service from the concierges and the waitstaff in the restaurant at breakfast. The property is elegant and everyone who works here goes above and beyond. Rooms on the north side have views of the serene garden behind the hotel - as do every seat in the restaurant. The Okazaki neighborhood is quiet and lovely, away from the crowds and right near gorgeous temples and shrines, museums, and the philosophers...

"Very impressed by the accommodations provided. Only visible minor issue was not being able to use the black-out shades with the button interface provided in the room, but that could just be user error and is definitely not enough to detract from a 5/5 experience"

The japanese breakfast every day was truly memorable, and the coffee shop on the property was beautiful as well. I could not recommend more, 10/10 stay, worth the price! We stayed in the private cabin and it was perfect. "

"It was the Japanese spirit people come to experience in their trip to Japan,but rarely do!To look out on that garden whilst having the hotel breakfast especially prepared individually on locally made pottery was a highlight of my visit to Japan.The staff are exceptional in behaviour and manners.This experience in the mountains outside of Kyoto was tryly unique"

"This was a spacious, comfortable and unique property in a good location. It was immaculately clean. There is a Lawson store next door and a number of good restaurants nearby. It is in walking distance to the Heian Shrine and Nanzenji Temple. Bus stops are just outside and subway stations are very close. The hotel is on a busy street, but the room is well insulated and very quiet. It has a washing machine that is supposed to also function as a dryer, but we didn’t have much luck with the dryer...

"We loved our stay at this hotel. The free washer/dryer was a plus. The showers were great and the place was very clean. It’s about 5-10 mins walk from the shopping/dinning. "

"A fantastic and authentic place right in the heart of Gion and next door to the yasaka shine. Everything about it is considered and beautiful. A true gem in Kyoto. The breakfast is epic. Kimono’s suppled by the ryokan can be worn around the property which is a nice touch. Staff as amazing. "

"This hotel is ideally situated, close to Gion and most of the close-in temples as well as dining options and public transit. But this hotel really shines in its commitment to service. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful, the rooms were large (for Japan!) and well appointed. The on-site bakery is delicious and they have a nice roofbar. When I return to Kyoto I will certainly stay here again."
