"RIU Yucatán is located in a private , gated community. It is all inclusive with a buffet, and several specialty restaurants including Mexican , Italian and Steak House. It is a beautiful resort that is meticulously maintained. It's beach is one of the best I've ever visited. Daily entertainment. Staff is friendly and attentive. Rooms have programable safes. You have exchange privileges with 3 other RIU properties near by. Small shopping area with in walking distance. "

"The resort was great, having a smaller and more personal feel to some of the huge resorts. It was walking distance in the beach right into Playa del Carmen, taking only 15-20 minutes. My focus was a wellness type getaway and the property had great amenities. The yoga classes at the beach in the mornings are worth the early rise. The teacher is great and the class works for all levels. Following up yoga with a coffee on the beach watching the ocean was a great way to start the day. The outdoor Selvatik gym has everything you need. As an avid gym goer, I was able to recreate my commercial gym workouts in these jungle gyms. The food was excellent and even though there are only 2 a la carte options, you can go multiple times as they have a wide selection of menu options. The buffet was also good breakfast, lunch & dinner. The overall environment of the Reef resort is immersive as you are in the jungle and then it opens up into the beach. I will definitely be back."

"Wonderful hotel for a quiet vacation with the family. Pool was nice and beach beautiful, even though it was damaged by a recent storm. Entertainment was alright but not a huge choice or variety of shows. It is geared more towards the quiet crowd rather than the party crowd.The buffet was delicious and always had a wide variety of dishes available. Restaurants were good but nothing out of this world. Staff was friendly and accommodating, but we disliked the timeshare/VIP pushiness and that areas were designated for those people only. Feels divisive in my opinion. If we are dropping that much money on a vacation as it is, guests should all be treated well and not like some are better than others. If you were not willing to pay a lot of money into a time share and are not one of the VIP folks that had a show in their lounge nightly, there wasn’t much to do but if you like a quiet, relaxing vacation and early bed time you’ll like this resort."

"Great resort, service, entertainment, beach, pools. Our 15 time staying at a Riu property. Weve been staying at either Riu Palace Riviera Maya or Riu Tequila since 2016 and we have never been disappointed with our stay. While the club level isnt as full service as the Palace is, we find the club level hotels have more families and things going on for kids of all ages to enjoy. We enjoy the Palace level when we are traveling without our child. Since we were travelling with our 11 year old we chose the club level. We liked the rooms and evening entertainment at Tequila. Especially the neon and white parties on fridays. We spent our daytimes across the street at the pool and beach club for Riu Yucatan since Tequila isnt ocean front. Guests at Tequila can freely visit the Riu Yucatan and Riu Playacar and use their pools and beach areas etc. The walk wasnt bad but theres a golf cart shuttle all day as well. -Our room was great, we had a family villa which was a king size bed and a pull out couch. We had a small balcony with a hanger for wet clothes. Shower and toilet were a good size. Cleaning staff did a great job every day. -Food was good. Lots of options every day at the buffets, although the Palace Level has more variety day to day. We stick to the buffets for breakfast lunch and dinner. -Entertainment staff did a wonderful job keeping things all day and night. Coconut party, foam party, circus show were our favs -All staff were friendly and kind as always!!"

"Liked not having to make reservations for special dinners . The beach bars were awesome and that they brought out popsicles and ice cream to beach. Loved the coconut party. Loved playing the games on beach every day. EVERY worker was king, friendly, and hard working ! The bands were great. We LOVE Riu "

"Property excellent but shuttle bus from airport was never there I had to pay $130.00 to get to the hotel I will need Reimbursement some how or will try different apps"
